Viet Nam is set to make a major stride in its journey toward building a comprehensive, transparent, and people-centered data system with the official launch of the first-ever National Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Report for the period 2021–2024 on 25 April 2025.
This landmark report, developed by the General Statistics Office based on data from the national electronic civil registration system, was made possible with strong support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Vital Strategies under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative. It presents a nationwide overview of birth, death, and marriage registration, as well as key population issues—calling for action to ensure that no one is left behind.
In the lead-up to the National Workshop launching the CRVS Report 2021–2024, UNFPA Viet Nam is pleased to introduce the video "Civil Registration and Vital Statistics: Your Right, Our Responsibility," which captures key milestones in this vital agenda.
