Under the framework of the programme “Elimination of violence against women and children in Viet Nam 2021-2025” funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), on 18 April 2022, UNFPA in collaboration with the Gender Equality Department of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs organized the regular meeting of The Action Partnership Network for Prevention and Response to Gender-based violence (GBV).
The GBV Action Partnership Network has involved 40 participants from Government Agencies, mass organizations, CSOs, UN Agencies, experts, lawyers, and journalists. The network aims to mobilize and connect initiatives, good practices, and resources to strengthen the prevention of and response to GBV; enhance cooperation among concerned agencies, organizations, and people. It is the first meeting of the GBV network following its official announcement on 14 December 2021.
The mail goals of the meeting were to:
- Discuss and agree on the working modality and work plan of the network;
- Update implemented activities of the network members;
- Discuss and propose new/revised policies associated with GBV and Harmful Practices for revision of the Gender Equality Law.
