Publication date

03 November 2023

This Regional Guidance is an important milestone towards increasing the prosperity, connectivity, resilience, and security of women and children of ASEAN member states (AMS). The development of this Guidance is to support the operationalisation of the ASEAN Road Map for the Implementation of the Hanoi Declaration on Strengthening Social Work for a Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN Community.

This Regional Guidance aims to support policymakers and members of the social service workforce and allied sectors in the ASEAN Member States to design and deliver quality social work services for women and children at risk of or who have experienced violence. The roll-out and implementation of this regional guidance is a priority for ASEAN Member States in 2024. Following the support to develop this Regional Guidance, UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women are committed to continuously supporting ASEAN on this rollout and implementation.
