Civil Registration and Vital Statistics - Your Rights, Our Responsibilities
On December 16, the National Conference to review the implementation of the National Action Programme on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) for the 2017–2024 period was held by the Ministry of Justice. This affirms Viet Nam's international integration in activities to ensure the right to the civil registration of the people in particular and essential human rights in general, ensuring that "no one is left behind".
Through the Conference, effective and practical technical support from UNFPA in Viet Nam and Vital Strategies for the "Data for Health Initiative" to strengthen national capacity in CRVS was recognised.
UNFPA, together with stakeholders and partners, have jointly implemented technical activities focusing on: developing a process for improving professional practices to improve the quality of birth and death registration; and supporting pilot research on innovative models of interconnectivity in civil registration and vital statistics.
With significant contributions to CRVS work in Viet Nam during the past seven years, UNFPA has committed to working closely with ministries and departments to improve the effectiveness of CRVS in Viet Nam.
