Reproductive Health for Migrant Workers

Annual Report

This publication is the sixth report in the series of lessons learnt and best practices in reproductive health supported by UNFPA in 2007. The report analyses the level of migrant demand for reproductive health care; determines how the provincial Trade Union and Youth Union disseminate reproductive health information; assesses the availability of reproductive health care services. It also proposes recommendations for improved provision of reproductive health information and services to young migrants.

This report presents the findings of a qualitative research study, conducted in Ha Giang province on the ethnic minority H'mong people living in Meo Vac district. The booklet investigates rising concerns that the sex ratio at birth, or the number of boys born to every 100 girls, is becoming unbalanced, a risk factor that must be addressed now.
